BlueCats (ABN 33 140 286 675) (we, us, our) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information collected through this website, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
This policy applies to the BlueCats website only. Personal information handled within our products (OneTag, M2 and QMS) or processed on behalf of our customers is governed by our separate customer agreements and data processing terms.
Information we collect
We collect personal information in two ways:
- When you contact us. If you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, the message you send and, optionally, your company name.
- Automatically. When you visit, our hosting platform records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages accessed, in server logs used to operate and secure the website.
- Website analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — for example pages viewed, the referring site, approximate location, and general device and browser information. Google Analytics uses cookies and is provided by Google, which processes this information on our behalf and may store it on servers outside Australia (see section 04). We do not use it for advertising or to track you across other websites, and analytics only runs if you accept it via the cookie notice.
Other than Google Analytics described above, we do not use advertising cookies or cross-site ad tracking, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive information through this website.
How we use your information
We use the personal information we collect to:
- respond to your enquiry and provide the information you request;
- operate, secure and improve the website;
- detect and prevent misuse, spam or fraud; and
- comply with our legal obligations.
We do not use the details you provide through the contact form for marketing without your consent.
Disclosure of your information
We disclose personal information only to:
- service providers who host and support this website and process information on our behalf under contract — our website and contact-form submissions are hosted on Microsoft Azure;
- a notification service used to alert our team to new enquiries, where enabled; and
- any person or body where we are required or authorised to do so by law.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Overseas disclosure
Personal information you submit through our contact form is stored in Australia (Microsoft Azure, Australia East region). However, we use Google Analytics, which means website-usage information (and related identifiers) is processed by Google and may be stored or processed on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We rely on Google's contractual and compliance safeguards for that transfer. Analytics only operates if you accept it via the cookie notice.
How we protect your information
We maintain an information security management system certified to ISO/IEC 27001 and take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including access controls and encryption in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
How long we keep it
We keep contact-form submissions only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which they were collected, and in any case no longer than 24 months, after which we delete or de-identify them. Server logs are retained for a shorter period for security and operational purposes.
Cookies and tracking
We use Google Analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. When you first visit, a notice asks you to accept or decline analytics cookies; analytics only runs if you accept, and you can decline at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. You can also opt out globally using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site ad tracking. Fonts and all other assets are served directly from our own website.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, or to correct it, using the contact details below. We will respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your identity first.
Complaints
If you have a privacy concern or complaint, please contact us first using the details below and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
Notifiable data breaches
We comply with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC as required.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version and its effective date are shown on this page.
